Jonathan Frost Jr. Service in the Revolution:

 

Frost, Jonathan, Tewksbury (also given Duxbury).

• His name appears as "Corporal" in Captain John Trull's Company of Minute-men in Colonel Ebenezer Bridge's Regiment, who marched on the alarm of 19 April, 1775 with service of 9 days out.

• He enlisted 20 April, 1775 as a private  as a member of Captain Benjamin Walker's Company, Col. Ebenezer Bridge's 27th Massachusetts Regiment, receipt for advance pay dated Cambridge, 24 June, 1775, signed by "Frost and others." who were in service 3 months and 11 days. Company return dated Oct., 1775;

• He enlisted as a private for three years in Captain Elijah Danforth's Company, Colonel Thomas Nixon's Regiment His name appears on the Continental Army pay accounts from service from 19 April, 1777 to 31 Dec., 1779, residence given as Tewksbury/and/or Holliston; and on 15 Aug., 1777, he was certified being in Camp near Peekskill, New York. He was reported transferred to invalid corps.

• His name appears on Lieutenant Ephraim Minot's Corps of Invalids on the payroll for June - Sept., 1778, dated at Boston.

• His name appears on the muster rolls dated 9 Sept. and 2 Oct., 1779, Lieutenant Osgood Carleton's Company of invalids stationed at Boston In Lewis Nicolas' Regiment, muster roll 9 Sept. and 2 Oct.,  1779;

• His name appears on Continental Army Pay Accounts of Capt. McFarland's corps of invalids; for service from 1 Jan. 1780, to 1 April 1780; reported discharged April 1, 1780.  [If he was an invalid in 1780, how could he sign up again for service? I am confused as this might be the record or Jonathan Sr. above and what follows is for Jonathan Jr. More research needs to be done.]

•His name appears on a descriptive list of men raised to reinforce Continental Army for the term of 6 months, agreeable to resolve of June 5, 1780; age, 29 yrs; stature, 5 ft. 11 in.; complexion, ruddy; engaged for town of Tewksbury; arrived at Springfield July 9, 1780;

• His name appears on a list of 6 months men returned as received of Major Joseph Hosmer, Superintendent for Middlesex Co., by Justin Ely, Commissioner, dated Springfield, Aug. 6, 1780;

• His name appears on a list of men raised for the 6 months service and returned by Brig. Gen. Paterson as having passed muster in a return dated Camp Totoway, Oct. 25, 1780; residence, Duxbury;

•His name appears on the payroll for 6 months men raised by the town of Tewksbury for service in the Continental Army during 1780; marched July 4, 1780; discharged Dec. 25, 1780; service, 6 mos. 2 days.
