"In 1660 Robert Temple is fined at Salem, Mass., for wearing silver lace when he was thought not to have property sufficient to sustain such expense. He bought and sold real estate in Salem in 1660. Probably he went to Saco, Me., soon afterwords. ... . [He] was killed by the Indians at Saco in 1675 ... and his house and effects burned. His widow and children are thought to have removed to Massachusetts soon afterward."
