On March 13, 1676, John Rawlings Nutting (b. 1620) was killed in the Indian raid of Groton, MA, which was part of the King Philip War. John Rawlings and his father John (b. 1590) thought there were only a few Indians around the houses. When they went out to check, there were a few hundred. There were three men killed that day, John, Sr., John Rawlings and another man.
