Christian Browne of Salisbury, England a widow with her three sons Henry, George and William were in Salisbury, Mass. by 1639. She was one of the original settlers of that town and received land in the "first division" in 1640. On the Salisbury Town Records amongst the grants will be found " To Christian Browne, widow, one acre more or less, for a house lot, between John Fullers and Joseph Moyees 1639. Also a second grant, a little cove of meadow between the land of Thomas Dummer and Mr. Hook Oct. 26, 1640. Grants were made to Henry in 1640 and Henry, George and William in 1642.
