Daniel Warren, the third child of John and Margaret, was born in England in 1628. December 10, 1650, he married Mary Barron, daughter of Ellis and Grace (Hawkins) Barron. Her father was a freeman also, and held office in Watertown from 1668 to 1673.

Daniel Warren served in the King Phillip war, and when a warrant was issued to the militia of Watertown, December 1675, for "impressing twenty soldiers with provisions, arms, amunition and clothing for the defence of the Colonies," he was amongst the first to respond. His name also tops the list of those "most fit," in the little company called the "Farmers' Defence."

On the next day, in the morning, soe soon as it was light, we went to look for Concord men who wear slain in the River middow, and thear we went in the colld water up to the knees, and found five, and we brought them in conus to the Bridge fut, and burred them thear; and then we joyned ourselves to Captain Hunton, with as many as we could procuer, and went over the River to look for Captain Wadsworth and Captain Brattlebank, and the soldiers that wear slain; and we gathered them up and burred them, and it was agreed that we should goe up to Nobscot to bring carts from thence to Sudbury towne, and soe we returned Hom again.
