From the NEHG Register, vol. 74, April 1920, page 99, (The Dunnings of Maine, by Rev. Everett Stackpole). It has him as a farmer and cordwainer, born about 1700. William Dunning came to Brunswick in 1718, but the attacks of the indians in 1724 induced him to settle at York"

Arnold Dunning on the "Dunnings of Maine" website on the internet has his death in York, ME, at age 82 years.

Have a copy of his will in which he writes, "I, William Dunning of York in the county of York cordwainer being of sound mind and memory but apprehensive my great and last change is approaching do make and ordain this to be my list will and testament. I give and bequeath to my son Andrew Dunning one half of my salt-marsh in Brunswick in the county of Cumberland, and one half my pew in Brunswick meeting house with half the rent that shall be due for the same at my decease and to his heirs. I give and bequeath to my daughter Deborah, wife of Johnathan Farnham seven acres of land joing the lands of the widow Mercy Bragdon and lands of Joseph Main, late of York deceased. I also give her one silver spoon; to her and her heirs forever...I give and bequeath to Capt. Joseph Bragdon who I appoint one of the executors of this my last will and testament all the rest & residue of my estate both real and personal which I have not disposed of --- paying my just depts legacies & funeral charges. I appoint Deacon John Sewall one of the executors of this my last will and Testament...I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Sewall, sixty spanish mill'd dollars, and one silver spoon..."

From Find a Grave Website - Memorial # 62830796 - States he is buried in the Old York Cemetery, York Village, York County, Maine. States he was born 1700 in County Wexford, Ireland, and died 13 June 1783 in York Village, York County, Maine. William who removed to York, Maine where he died, June 13,1783, having married Deborah Donnnell and becoming the father of a large family. Two of his sons moved to Harpswell at a very early date.

Farmer and cordwainer.3 William Dunning was born circa 1700.3 He was the son of Andrew Dunning.2 William Dunning married Deborah Donnell, daughter of Benjamin Donnell and Mary Harmon, on 26 November 1724 in York, Maine.3 William Dunning died on 13 June 1783 in York, Maine.3
