Daughter of William Clarke of Salem,MA (d.1647) by his first wife whose identity is not known. (William's second wife was Katherine (Franklin) Prince, whom he married c1636, and Katherine married, third, John Gedney.)

Sister of William Clark Jr.

Half-Sister of Bethia (Clark) Hutchinson, Hannah (Clarke) Gedney, and Susanna (Clarke) Gedney Parkman.

Step-Sister of Rebecca (Prince) Putnam.

She remarried following Capt George Davis' death, and her second husband, married about 1672, was Nicholas Rist, who died after Aug 11,1701.

At about age 70-72, she was accused and punished during the witchcraft hysteria surrounding Salem, Massachusetts. She was finally released back to the care of her second husband (Nicholas Rist) after six months of languishing in Boston Gaol, as the jails around Salem were all full of accused people. Her husband had pleaded for her life with the special court of 'Oyer and Terminer' at Salem and won a reprieve from them. She died six years later, on May 3,1698.
