John is first noted in Haverhill, MA in 1672 where it is recorded that he bought a piece of land from Nathaniel Smith. In that same year, the name of John Decker appears on records in Exeter, NH. It is not known if that is the same John Decker. In 1678, our ancestor John was in Newbury, MA where he took the oath of allegiance. After his marriage in 1680, he and his wife settled in Haverhill.
