per Maud Whitney's family journal:

"Cooper - "The first of the name in this country was "Peter". He had 1 1/2 acres house both on Bradford St, in Rowley Mass, in 1645 and was a neighbor of the ancestors of the Jewett family.

He was chosen one of the overseers of that town in 1653.

He was buried Jan 15, 1667-8. His will is dated Jan. 3, 1667 proved March 31, 1668.

Emma (Amelia) his wife bured April 18, 1689."
