Two Sarah Allens? One married Benjamin Wentworth and one married John Gordon. Which is which?

Sarah Allen, b. 1679, dau of Edward Allen and Sarah of Dover Neck, NH, was m. c1697 to Benjamin Wentworth (1670-1728). He was her only husband. After he drowned in 1728, she lived many years a widow, and d. 12 July 1770, age 91.Both The Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and NH [Noyes, Libby, Davis] and The Wentworth Genealogy indicate this, but I will confirm.

Thanks Robert! If that's the case what we have is a chimera i.e. we've combined the birth and parents of one Sarah with the death of another:

1) Sarah Allen b Salisbury to John Allen and Mary Pike (Gordon)
2) Sarah Allen died 12 July 1770, age 91 (Wentworth)

What we've done is glued the parents and birth date of the former Sarah Allen and pasted it onto the death date of the other? That's correct, right? So we have to separate her into two people again and find the proper death date for Sarah (Allen) Gordon and birth date for Sarah (Allen) Wentworth.

These are the wrong parents of Sarah (Allen) Wentworth. Both The Wentworth Genealogy and the Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and NH [Noyes, Libby, Davis] have Sarah (Allen) Wentworth (1679-1770) as the daughter of Edward and Sarah Allen of Dover Neck, NH. [See p. 62 of the Genealogical Dictionary.]

Sarah was m. to Benjamin Wentworth about 1697 and had 12 children. Their oldest child, William, was b. 14 Aug 1698, and their youngest, Mark, was b. 30 May 1720. Benjamin Wentworth was drowned on 25 July 1728 -- "at 11 o'clock at night, going home from Dover Neck, he missed the boom and drove into the river." His wife Sarah was appointed administrator of his estate. In January 1756, she gave her age as 76 when she was deposed; Dover records show that she died on 12 July 1770, age 91.
