1. Thomas Trafton, born June 20, 1624 in East St Newlyn, Cornwall, England1,2,3; died May 1707 in York, York, Maine4,5,6. He married (1) Elizabeth Moore 1668 in York Co., Maine7,8,9. She was born 1646, and died 1705. She was the daughter of William Moore and Dorothy Dixon.

Notes for Thomas Trafton:
Thomas is referred to as Thomas the Pioneer. He is the presumed Father of all Trafton's in the USA.

Information regarding Thomas, Thaddeus I, Thaddeus II, Enoch, Joseph and David is from Lloyd Trafton (Washington) who has done extensive research on the Trafton lineage.

Note from Lloyd Trafton:
There is a bundle of data on him in almost every Geneology book. He has ties to England and frequently you will see reference to Cornwall, England (St. Newlyn Parish). I have a baptismal record of a Thomas Troughton from there, but it is disputed, or not proven to be Thomas the Pioneer's)

He had 9 kids and only Zacheus is of the Trafton line of survivors. Or...known line. There is some question about a Joseph who might be the ancestor of the Carolina Trafton's. They branch from a Joseph Trafton of Deighton, Mass. and the connection to Thomas the Pioneer is up for grabs, but I think Joseph of Deighton is the son of Thomas the Pioneer.

And that is where the story stops!

No known English documents to support Thomas the pioneer's parents. There was a Trafton in England...North East corner (Soderburg, England, I believe) at this time with the correct spelling. He signed a will that was found in a pond in Boston. But, don't know how it relates.
