On 8 May 1635, "Jon. Whettcomb and family" (John, Frances, and probably their first four children) were passengers aboard the Hopewell.The family first settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts, but removed to Scituate, Massachusetts by 1639 and then to Lancaster, Massachusetts by 1654. Their son Jonathan, our ancestor, was the first of their children born in America.
We are descended from John and Frances (Coggan) Whitcomb through the Wright (Tucker) line.
