    Albums  American Civil War (0)
The American Civil War was a conflict fought between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, a collection of eleven southern states that seceded from the Union between 1860 and 1861. The war lasted from 1861 to 1865.

Surprisingly, I have yet to identify a single ancestor from whom we are directly descended who fought in the Civil War. For our ancestors who lived through this time, it seemed most were either too young or too old during those four years. I have, however, uncovered many uncles and cousins who fought on the Union side of the Civil War, and in this collection I present that research.
