Witch Trials & Hysteria (1692 and before)

Throughout history, witch trials have been a dark and mystifying chapter, often reflecting the fears, superstitions, and societal tensions of the times. The most notorious of these are the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, a period marked by hysteria and injustice that has since become synonymous with mass paranoia and wrongful persecution. In this album, I’ll capture information and the personal histories of our ancestors caught in these events, not only in Salem but in other witch trials throughout history. Their experiences offer insights into the societal, religious, and political factors that fueled such accusations and the impact on those who were targeted. Through examining these stories, we aim to understand the complexities of human nature and society during times of paranoia and injustice. These narratives serve as reminders of the importance of reason and justice in any society.
